Brehndan’s Bio

 

For as long as I can remember, I have always looked for new opportunities and for ways to do things differently or better.  I am seldom satisfied until I understand why and how:  Why is something the way it is and how can I do it better?

 

I left my first job at age 24 because I didn’t believe I was growing fast enough; so, I started my first business.  Within a year my turnover had grown by more than 1000% and two years later by another 1000%.  A short while later I was able to pursue other ventures.  Despite those wins, I could have been more successful but - at the time - I didn’t really know how.

 

In the years that followed, my desire to grow successful businesses – and help others grow theirs – became stronger, even after I returned to the corporate sector.  I was instrumental in setting up the Raymond Ackerman Academy of Entrepreneurial Development, helping to preserve the legacy of one of South Africa’s greatest entrepreneurs.  That school has put successful entrepreneurs into South Africa’s economy for more than 15 years.

 

Even as a senior corporate Procurement professional later in my career, I set up a Supplier Development incubator in South Africa for the world’s largest premium alcohol drinks company, Diageo.  Again, results:  some suppliers doubled turnover; others were able to increase capacity to take on other, bigger clients.  In short, businesses grew.

 

With deep experience in Marketing, Procurement, Entrepreneurship, Incubation and people management, I am now the business builder I needed by my side more than 20 years ago.
